Standing Wave App
Project Description: The Standing Wave App was a collaboration between Standing Wave Ensemble and Chroma Mixed Media to create a prototype of an interactive mobile app that allows listeners to engage with their music in new ways and provide an accessible entry point to contemporary music. The app currently features music written for Standing Wave by James O'Callaghan and Jordan Nobles. O'Callaghan's in an archipelago welcomes the listener to curate their own version of his piece by selecting different instrumental combinations and adjusting their balance and panning. Nobles' Echo Chamber has the listener navigate through a virtual landscape where each space affects the sound of the music.
Responsible for: Level design, lighting, visual effects, UI, and optimization for all visual elements.
